Jerry Zakariasen is a heart-centered financial advisor based in Edmonton, Alberta.  He is both a Certified Financial Planner, and a Chartered Life Underwriter.

An Alberta native and entrepreneur, Jerry has decades of experience in helping individuals and small businesses to achieve their goals.  Since 1992 Jerry’s business at Lifetrek Financial Group has been built upon the core values of Honesty, Trust, Respect, Gratitude and Integrity.  Jerry believes strongly in the “Golden Rule” of treating others as you would wish to treated.  While it is important to run a profitable business, the Jerry and the staff at Lifetrek Financial Group always place people above profits.  This is what is meant by the term being “heart-centered”.

As the name Lifetrek Financial Group suggests, Jerry believes in building rich, life-long relationships with his clients.  Jerry says “Friendships with clients grow naturally over the years as we assist our clients with their life journey.  We see our role as helping to smooth out as many of the “bumps” as possible, as you navigate the road of life.”

 Jerry utilizes a holistic approach in the work that he does.  He helps his clients to see “the big picture” from many different angles, before delving into the minutia that are all part of an effective plan.  At Lifetrek Financial Group a financial plan is a living document.  Rather than coming up with a plan then leaving it to sit in a drawer or on a shelf, Jerry and his staff assist with implementing that plan and then in regularly monitoring the progress made.  From time to time, adjustments are made in response to changes in personal, or macro-economic circumstances.

In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner, Jerry is also a speaker and an author of numerous articles related to investing, finance and risk protection.  Some of his work have been featured in The Edmonton Journal, and a national industry newspaper called Investment Executive.   Jerry is currently a member of the Financial Planning Standards Council, and Advocis, and has served on Spectrum Investments President’s Advisory Board.

Jerry’s hobbies include astronomy, RC aircraft, machining, welding , inventing and prototyping.  He was raised on a farm and still assists his two brothers in the operation of the family grain farm near Rosebud, Alberta.

While Jerry’s office is located in south Edmonton, he resides in Beaumont with his lovely wife Brigitte. They are recent empty nesters as the youngest of their three children recently spread her wings and left the nest.  They are thankful that they can now start cooking with cheese again!
